Economic Development

Located at the crossroads of I-40 and I-35, just minutes from the major employment centers of Downtown Oklahoma City, Tinker Air Force Base, the OU Health Sciences Campus and the Oklahoma State Capitol Complex, Del City is strongly positioned for positive economic growth.

The City of Del City is committed to an aggressive economic development program as part of its overall community revitalization strategy.  Development assistance can be tailored to the specific needs of each project, whether a large mixed-use redevelopment requiring Tax Increment Financing or smaller infill projects facilitated by infrastructure improvements or fee waivers.

Del City is in a particularly attractive position for retail growth due to the rapid neighborhood revitalization caused by the enactment of innovative housing stock improvement programs.  In particular, the Storybook Ranch Architectural Preservation District is drawing significant investment to an area directly adjacent to I-40 that is primed for retail redevelopment.  In recent years, the City has enjoyed a strong track record of attracting national, regional and local retailers.

The recent opening of the Integris Community Hospital – Del City is yet another example of businesses choosing our community because we offer prime location, positively-trending demographics and a favorable regulatory environment.
