Building Inspector

Performs work of a technical nature utilizing skills, knowledge and abilities normally acquired prior to assuming the position.  The employee is responsible for the inspection, investigation and enforcement of construction-related codes and ordinances, serving as a combination inspector as well as enforcing other applicable Federal, State or local ordinances, regulations or codes.

EVENT COORDINATOR/OFFICE ASSISTANT

This is a multi-function position under the general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor.  The work is semi-routine in nature, although the employee may be required to make judgements as the the appropriate action to take in various situations in accordance with established policies, procedures and the instructions of the Recreation Supervisor. Department: Police Department

911 Dispatcher

This employee is responsible for the receiving of calls for service from the public by telephone or personal contact regarding emergency and non-emergency situations, complaints and animal control problems.  Records all pertinent information and the dispatching of Police patrol forces to calls for service through radio operations.  Employees of this class are under the direct supervision of a Division Commander and the general supervision of a Shift Commander.  Employee may be responsible for the on-the-job training of new personnel.

ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER

This is a civilian position in enforcing animal control laws and ordinances.  The employee is responsible for the capture and impounding of animals that do not comply with established animal laws and ordinances.  Work involves an element of danger and has considerable contact with the public.  Work is usually performed independently within established rules and procedures.  This employee is under the direct supervision of a Division Commander or his/her designee. 

Patrol Officer

This is general duty police work in enforcing laws and ordinances.  This employee is responsible for the protection of life and property; prevention, detection, and investigation of crime and maintaining law and order.  Work involves an element of danger and may be performed either in plain clothes or in uniform.  The Patrol Officer is engaged in constant and varied contact with the public which requires the exercise of individual initiative.  Specific assignments are received from superior officers and are carried out in accordance with established rules and procedures.  This employee may... read more

Department: Public Works

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

This is a responsible, skilled work in inspection, maintenance and repair of the City’s water system.  Employees of this class must possess at least a Class “D” Water Operators License and have experience in maintenance of a distribution system.  Heavy Equipment Operator may fill in for the Water Line Maintenance Supervisor whenever the Supervisor is unavailable.

METER READER

This is work of a semi-skilled labor involving the reading water meters and maintenance of the meter system.
