Department: Community Services
Performs work of an administrative nature utilitzing skill, knowledge and abilities normally acquired prior to assuming the position. The employee is responsible for managing daily workflow in the Code Enforcement Division, interacting with residents, businesses, contractors and other City departments, providing support to the Inspection and Planning Divisions, and performing various other duties relating to the Planning, Inspection and Code Enforcement Divisions of the Community Services Department.
Department: Police Department
This is a civilian position in enforcing animal control laws and ordinances. The employee is responsible for the capture and impounding of animals that do not comply with established animal laws and ordinances. Work involves an element of danger and has considerable contact with the public. Work is usually performed independently within established rules and procedures. This employee is under the direct supervision of a Division Commander or his/her designee.
Department: Public Works
This is manual labor in the performance of semiskilled tasks of a physically demanding nature. Work involves responsibility for performing heavy manual labor, general construction and related servicing tasks in public areas and street rights-of-way.
This is a responsible skilled work of a mechanical nature in the maintenance of the sewer system. Employees in this class have the responsibility for the operation and general maintenance of the collection system maintained by the City. Work is performed with some latitude for the use of independent judgment in some work methods and procedures while carrying out the maintenance on the collection line.
Work in this classification is skilled in nature, with Operator performing a variety of complex tasks. Most of the work is semi-routine, following established policies and procedures; however, a large portion requires initiative and independent judgment concerning techniques and methods by which tasks are to be performed. Equipment operation includes, but is not limited to, dump trucks, backhoe-loaders, tractors with brush hog, flail-type mowers, box blade, disc, and other gasoline and diesel-powered equipment rated at 40 hp or more.
